Pastor Tanya Jones

Pastor Tanya Y. Jones

Pastor Tanya Jones is a native of Baltimore, MD and was raised in Lexington Park, MD.  Her husband and ministry partner is Michael J. Jones, Pastor of Village of Faith Ministries.  They have two wonderful children, Jocelyn and Jalon.  An anointed preacher and Life Coach, she is presently employed by Fidelity.

Tanya graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Marketing, Communication and Sociology).  She went on to receive her Master’s of International Management at Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona.

Soaring to new heights is nothing new for Pastor Tanya Jones.  As an Olympic High Jumper she understands the discipline and hard work it takes to compete at the highest level of sport.  Tanya graduated from Great Mills High School where she was a standout student-athlete competing in volleyball, basketball and track and Field.  She received a full athletic scholarship to attend the University of Arizona in Tucson.  During her time at Arizona, Tanya was a four-time NCAA Champion, American Jr. and NCAA record-holder, two-time U.S. National Champion and a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team.

Tanya has a passion to see lives transformed by the power of God.  She was licensed as a minister in 1998 and has been active as a teacher, preacher and evangelist.  In 2005, the Lord led Tanya and her husband to begin Village of Faith Ministries in Richmond, VA.  After serving in a traditional church context the couple realized that it would take a new ministry approach to reach this generation. The Village of Faith had over 150 persons attend their first service and in its first year over 400 persons have joined the church and over 1,300 have joined to date.  In their second year, VOFM launched its second site in Chesterfield on Easter Sunday and over 500 people attended this service.  God is doing some awesome things at the Village of Faith

Tanya is committed to “Changing the World-One Family at a Time.”  She believes that everything that has happened in her life until now, has been preparation for this next level of ministry. She realizes that “in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Rom 8:37).” She wants to share that Good News with all who will listen.
