In 1998 Pastor Tanya & I moved to Richmond, VA when our first child was only 1 month old. We came so I could attend seminary and get a Masters of Divinity degree to prepare me for the pastorate. Seven years later with a call on both of our lives to plant a church that would change the world, God launched the Village of Faith Ministries on December 4, 2005. With a vision to “Reach families with a simple gospel message that will help them change the world”, we set out about this mission going door to door to share our story.

With 44-members joining on the first day and averaging over 200 people in attendance after only two months, we changed locations to the local high school and that’s when the flood gates of heaven opened. In May of 2006, during our first full year, we put together a purchase agreement to acquire 18.25 acres of land in Eastern Henrico. With only 200 members we raised the necessary funds to close on the property. In first year as well we launched the Celebrate Life Broadcast, which airs every Sunday morning. By the end of our first full year over 400 people called themselves members of the Village of Faith.

During our second year of ministry it was our vision to be one church in two locations. So on Easter Sunday of 2007 we launched our second location in adjacent Chesterfield County. On that Sunday, between both locations we ministered to over 1,300 people. Our Village Values of “Celebrating Life, Empowering Individuals, Impacting Communities and Sharing Our Faith” have driven our members to soar to higher heights. We praise God that by the end of our second year of ministry 1,000 persons had joined the Village. Members are getting out of debt, starting businesses and seeing dreams fulfilled.

As we look to the future, we are thankful for what God has built and excited for what God is going to build through all of us. We know that we cannot do it alone. But together and with God’s help, we know that we can “Change the World, One Family at a Time”
